Our Mission

Shine Your Light is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering leadership, personal development, and mental wellness coaching, training, and other resources that teach you to cut through the noise to your deepest knowing to manage overwhelm and stress, make quick, clear decisions, remember your true self and what matters, and courageously claim your well-deserved dreams and goals. Whether you are seeking positive change in your own life or a leader passionate about improving the lives of others, we believe that accessing your intuition to thrive is not only possible, but necessary to enact real change. Because when one person or organization dares to be amazing, it’s contagious, and we all start to shine.

Our Story

One blistering summer, high atop a desert mesa, Laurie fasted on a vision quest to take a hard look at her life. As she opened her journal to figure out how to stop living small, a book unexpectedly came pouring out. Realizing how important the book’s message was, she quit her workaholic job, broke up with Mr. Almost, moved back to her favorite town, and set off on a new path in her education career—teaching others how to lead lives they love. Months later, while watching her clothes spin at her local laundromat, she had another huge a-ha: By starting a nonprofit, she could offer free and discounted services to those who couldn’t afford them and certify others in her Breakthrough Method, helping even more people and organizations to thrive.
